Presenters
Guest Speaker: The Rev’d Wayne Malott –
“A Long Journey Into Light”
Wayne is a newly ordained Anglican priest awaiting his first
placement; after a thirty-five year career as a chiropractor. Along
the way he spent almost 40 years with no involvement in the church. His
journey followed a long and circuitous route, full of detours & blind
alleys. However, with the help and example of people who lived out their
faith before him, he was able late in life to find a vital faith in Christ.
Wayne looks forward to sharing his story and reflections on his journey back
to Christ’s light.
Guest Speaker: Derek Davis –
“Christology vs Technology”
Derek was employed by Ford Motor Company for almost 31
years. He worked in various aspects of the company including engineering,
quality, production systems and tool management. At the apex of his
career he left the company to pursue avocational life and launched a program
called “The Good Samaritan” which focuses on people that have fallen through
the cracks during their journey in life. His greatest love is serving God
and Church.
Banquet Speaker: Military Chaplain Major The Rev. Kim
Gilliland –
“Bring Peace to a
Wounded World”
Rev. Kim has
served in the Canadian Reserve for 27 years providing dedicated service and
spiritual support to military members and their families. He is currently
the senior Chaplain for The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment and also the
Deputy Brigade Chaplain. Ordained in 1987 and has served as the pastor of
Cottam United Church since 2004. He is married to Ruth. They have four
children, two of which are also serving in the Army Reserve.
